last books you read
I didn't see a thread... sorry if there is one. C'mon, it's a must have thread.
So, what did you read last? And say something about it!
Anthem of a Reluctant Prophet by Joanne ProulxIt's a good coming of age book. Got a conversational type writing style which pulled me in. It's got heart and a good idea (a kid knows when people are gonna die). It never wastes its time trying to explain things that would only have half baked explanations anyway.
So, if I had to rate it, probably a 3.5/5.
Gun, With Occasional Music by Jonathan Lethem
Now this is a book. No wonder it won an award. It's a crime novel but it's unlike anything you'll read in the genre. There are detective kangeroos for example. People take drugs called Acceptol and Forgettol (to name a couple). It's interesting. It's inspired.
4.5/5
Songs of Innocence and of Experience by William Blake
There's no doubt he was talented, from his drawings to his poetry. I don't really get what he's saying some of the time but I like it. But I won't lie, it doesn't hit me like it should.
3/5

Little gREEN man : Novel by christopher buckley
This was a pretty good book. I found the beginning to drag a lot and a few times I really wanted to put it down but I went on and on the whole I am really glad I did. Once the book picked up it was hard to put down. The ending was cool and in this day and age really believable.

Re: last books you read
Last book i read was SPY CATCHER by PETER WRIGHT.
Its about a man who left british intelligence in 1976 when the government had repeatedly refused to pursue his discovery of the infamous 'Fifth Man' in the Burgees-Maclean-Philby-Blunt KGB spy ring.the document he prepared for the original investigation forms the basis for this incredible book.
Quite fascinating and controversial as well.
