Planning for a new computer....
hey guys i am planning to buy a new processor and motherboard by next may.....
my initial budget is 20000 tk (285 USD) ( but am willing to push it a bit if i can get better performance boost in not so higher prices....
am thinking of a motherboard supporting 8 gb ram or 16 gb ram (if affordable) AND either a core 2 duo 2.8 ghz/3 ghz or core 2 quad 3 ghz
hmm can anyone tell me what exactly is the difference between core 2 duo and core 2 quad in terms of performance?
am what is the price difference and would it be worth going for a core 2 quad instead of core 2 duo?
and oh do i have to change my power supply unit because of converting from pentium 4 ht?
ALL Suggestions will be appreciated

Re: Planning for a new computer....
Hey warrior sorry for the late reply...
the term CORE originated from the early computers of 1950s and 60 where there were these huge rooms filled with Relays and Electronic connections and later Transistors that used to perform all processing activities...
Later with Small Scale Transistor technology mainly VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) there was this concept of computer on a chip. A single integrated unit contained all the Processing Hardware Logic.
The Dual Core concept is that in a single fabrication there ought to be 2 Processing cores. Each core executing a seprate Thread (Partial Process). The Core2Duo Architecture is an example so are AMD Athlons X2 s.
Core2Quad is basically 2 Core2Duos stacked over one another. Thogh their are performance benefits with multi core system but the software you use need to be optimized for taking the benefit from you hardware.
If I were you I would be looking out for Core2Quad with 8GB Ram support Mobo... 8GB is an overkill, 16GBs are absolutely unnecessary....
