Lima wants first-team place

Willian Lima is begging Real Betis coach Paco Chaparro for a first team place - in time for the derby against Sevilla.


The defender signed on at the Ruiz de Lopera in August 2007, but has barely made an impact on the first team.

The
former Corinthians Alagoano player has made just six Liga starts all
season, as well as a further three substitute appearances.

Now the 23-year-old is looking to make a comeback.

"I'm very calm in my head because I'm doing the best I can - all I want is a chance," he said.

"I'm in pretty good shape, and all I lack is a bit of match sharpness."

Twice now Lima has sat on the sidelines for a Seville derby, and now he wants a piece of the action.

"We all know the importance of winning a derby and we're going to do all we can to beat Sevilla," he warned.

"This
is my third derby and I haven't played in either of the earlier ones,
but I'm working and fighting in the hope of being called up with my
colleagues.

"But to be selected I need to be playing well, and
even then the coach has many options because there are 23 players.
That's why we must continue working to convince the boss."
