How to trace IP of a site

About tracert
The tracert command is used to visually see a network packet being sent and received and the amount of hops required for that packet to get to its destination.

Syntex

Code:

tracert  [-d] [-h maximum_hops] [-j host-list] [-w timeout] target_name

switches:
-d Do not resolve addresses to hostnames.
-h maximum_hops Maximum number of hops to search for target.
-j host-list Loose source route along host-list.
-w timeout Wait timeout milliseconds for each reply.

Example

1. Open Command prompt... (START>>>>RUN>>>type "cmd" for xp or "command" for 98; without quotes)
2. type tracert www.mig33.com

this process will give u the IP adress of mig33..

www.who.is
to find out more about your targeted web address

This procedure is way to complicated... you could simplytype in at command prompt

c:\>PING websitename.com

and you ll get the IP address a complete trace route is an over kill in this scenario....
